The Digital Economist, a Washington-based global impact platform focused on co-creating solutions to drive technological convergence in the new digital economy, and Blocks99 are joining forces.

The alliance aims to promote development, starting with the inaugural convening at the MIT-led roundtable with Professor Alex “Sandy” Pentland in conjunction with the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos.

The Digital Economist defines a bold vision and brings to fore investable opportunities for the new human-centered digital economy based on sustainability, transparency, decentralization, individual privacy and radical collaboration. The organization is making a bold call to action to all sectors to leap forward into the new economy, invest and contribute to select social impact innovations that address the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In its roundtable series, The Digital Economist convenes enterprises, startups and innovators to explore, discuss and share business models and strategies to usher in the next phase of global economic transformation. The inaugural summit takes place at the Caspian Week (Davos, January 20–24, 2020), a platform for global ideas. It will bring together cutting-edge tools of economic science and hands-on industry experience. The event coincides with the 50th anniversary of the World Economic Forum in Davos.

As an independent blockchain media portal spanning Asia and Europe and bridging the gaps between traditional finance and blockchain technology, Blocks99 strongly supports these bold visions. For this reason, Blocks99 CEO Sophia Ha Ho has joined the initiative as a Council Member. We share the conviction that emerging technologies hold the keys to global anthropological and political development.

We are cooperating with The Digital Economist as a media partner to help get the message out, creating value and positive socio-economic impact. During the upcoming summit and roundtable at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Blocks99 will provide publicity and foster open dialogue among stakeholders in pursuit of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Participants in the roundtable discussion include MIT Professor and keynote speaker Alex Pentland, MIT Executive Director Stephen Buckley, Horasis Chairman Frank-Jürgen Richter, Teja Ventures Founding Partner Virginia Tan, UCL Centre for Blockchain Technologies Executive Director Paolo Tasca and TEDx Beacon Street Founder John Werner, along with many other thought-leaders.

The heart and driving forces of The Digital Economist two extraordinary women, Founder & CEO Navroop K. Sahdev and Founding Partner and Vice President Heidi Cuppari. Navroop is an MIT Fellow and blockchain expert as well as a sought-after interview partner and speaker for publications like Forbes and venues including TEDx.
